EU Digital COVID Certificate QR Code
EU health certificate signed by a national health authority. You can scan and verify one, but you won't find it in our generator.
What is a EU Digital COVID Certificate QR code?
The EU Digital COVID Certificate QR code carries a health record, vaccination, test result, or recovery status, that a border agent or venue can check without contacting the issuing country directly.
Who issues it
A national health authority in an EU or EEA member state issues each certificate and signs it with a key specific to that country.
The standard behind it
Verification apps hold a shared directory of every member state's public signing keys, so a certificate signed by one country's health authority can be checked anywhere in the scheme without a live lookup back to the issuer.
Why you can't generate this here
The code carries a cryptographic signature from its issuer. Anyone can verify it; nobody can forge a valid one without the issuer's private key.
You can still scan and verify one with our free QR checker.
Frequently asked
Can I make a EU Digital COVID Certificate QR code with a generator?
No. Without a national health authority's private signing key, any code we produced would fail verification the moment it's checked, it just wouldn't carry a valid signature.
Can I check whether one I received is genuine?
Yes. Any EU-approved COVID certificate verification app can check the signature. check.qr.abundera.ai will show you the raw structure but can't validate the signature itself.
