What is a WHO ICVP (Carte Jaune) QR code?
The International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis, known as the Carte Jaune or Yellow Card, records vaccinations required for international travel, most commonly yellow fever. Some issuing countries now print or supplement it with a QR code.
Who issues it
Vaccination centers authorized by national health ministries issue the certificate, following World Health Organization guidance on what it must record.
The standard behind it
The paper Yellow Card has existed for decades under WHO's International Health Regulations. QR variants are newer and vary by issuing country, there's no single global digital format yet.
Why you can't generate this here
The code carries a cryptographic signature from its issuer. Anyone can verify it; nobody can forge a valid one without the issuer's private key.
