What Is rMQR (Rectangular Micro QR)?
rMQR is a rectangular variant of the QR code standardized in ISO/IEC 23941:2022. Unlike traditional square QR codes, rMQR codes are elongated — they can be very wide and short, or tall and narrow. This makes them perfect for labeling objects where a square code simply won't fit.
rMQR is an extremely rare feature. Abundera QR is one of the only free tools anywhere that generates rMQR codes.

Most phone cameras cannot scan rMQR codes. This format is designed for industrial and specialized scanners. If your QR codes need to be scanned by consumer smartphones, use standard QR codes instead.
How much data can rMQR hold?
rMQR supports up to 361 alphanumeric characters or 219 bytes of binary data. This is significantly more than Micro QR (21 chars) but less than standard QR codes (4,296 chars).
